Follow Up Program

FullSizeRender-32Agape Youth Follow Up seeks to encourage children who have experienced the trauma of having an incarcerated parent. This follow up program was born out of our initial Camp Agape in August of 2012.  We realized a four day camp, though a very meaningful way to speak into the lives of these hurting kids, was far from meeting the deeper need they had for ongoing support, encouragement and stability.

In the two plus years since our first camp, Agape Youth Follow Up has been involved with these kids in the following ways:

Agape Youth Family Christmas

Each December we hold an Agape Youth Family Christmas celebration. This is a wonderful time where we welcome the entire family of each child who attended Camp Agape. A delicious meal is served, Christmas carols are sung, gifts are given to each family and a lot of love is shared. Kids love reconnecting with their leaders and other volunteers from camp. Their families greatly appreciate a heartfelt holiday gathering during what can sometimes be a difficult season.

Mentoring

Agape Youth volunteers spend time mentoring kids one on one or in small groups by attending special events, going on church youth group trips together, attending church, or by just spending time hanging out!
