Volunteers

This is how we do it.

The success and growth of Agape Families is based solely on the volunteers that make it happen. We welcome volunteers from diverse communities, churches and walks of life and we value the impact this has on our youth. Your time as a volunteer not only becomes a piece of you, but it leaves a lasting impression for kids who might not receive it otherwise. Whether you have one hour or 100 hours, there’s a place for you at Agape Families and we can’t wait to have you in the fam.

For specific volunteer opportunities, check out our detailed page here. If you are looking to serve through a financial gift, check out our sponsorship page or donation page.

However big, however small, let’s be a part of their lives.

You are the best.

“Being a part of Agape Families means actively loving kids who don’t think they are deserving of love, and showing them that God’s love is much greater than simple words. It’s a sacrificial, unconditional, and never ending love that we get to partake in, and there is no greater joy than sharing that with others.”

– Ryan Walla, Mentor & Adventure Camp Cabin Leader

Follow Up

Mentor

A caring, adult friend who commits to one hour a week with an Agape Youth. Mentors work to build a healthy relationship with the mentee and guides them through their everyday life through a Biblical worldview. Must be 19 years or older to be a mentor and agree to the Agape Families statement of faith.

Driver

As a part of our Church Connection Program, one of the key elements of helping connect students to a church is by providing rides. As a driver volunteers pick up one or more students for weekly youth group or Sunday service and bring them home afterward. This easy and tangible service provides a consistent, fun, and encouraging community of peers for our Agape students.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any trainings or meetings I have to attend to be a volunteer?

All camp volunteers will attend a two-hour training the week before camp to prepare them for the week ahead. This is a very important time for our volunteers to understand the policies of camp and know the schedule of events. You will also be able to meet your team coordinator and other volunteers you will be serving with. Cabin leaders will attend an additional three hour cabin leader training several weeks prior to camp.

What do I need to bring with me to volunteer?

Volunteers should come ready to walk around and serve kids! Each volunteer will be given a t-shirt and name tag to wear at camp to identify that they have been authorized to be on camp. Volunteers should plan to bring a water bottle and good walking shoes to their camp shifts.
